We always need a quick QR code generated, and if you Google it you find dozens of “free” services advertised. None of them are really free, as they want your email address, or bombard you with advertisements, or worse, actually cost money to download the file.
So, when Tania asked how she could generate one without the overhead and pain of found-via-google services, I just suggested that it’d be a fun project to throw together, and built it out in a couple hours.
I present to you, the world, the most simplest, free, secure and focused internet service IN THE WORLD: QR-as-a-service
The images are entirely client-side. There is no tracking, history, or storing of you URLs you generate. In the spirit of non-profit goodness, we’re hosting this for the world to use.
